The Southern Variety Experience
Southern Variety is NC’s newest indoor shooting range! Our beautiful 17,500 sq foot facility is open 7 days a week to Members and the Public.
Southern Variety features 13 well-lit, state-of-the-art shooting lanes. Each of the lanes are 40 yards long.
Our programmable target system was designed by Rushing Ranges, industry leaders in shooting ranges! Just click which distance for your target and hit go! Our range also features turning targets–a great way to test your shooting abilities!
The heated and air conditioned range features a top notch ventilation system that ensures those at the firing line will always breathe fresh and clean air.
What To Expect When You Arrive
Once you arrive, we’ll get you set up with a lane as soon as one is available, offer any rentals or ammo you need and any protection equipment as well. Then you will be able to enjoy your range time and work on your skills.

Range Rules
- Prior to entering the range, all patrons (shooters or spectators) must: (1) sign in with the Range Safety Officer (RSO), (2) attend safety briefing (3) complete and sign range waiver, and (4) complete range registration form to receive range pass.
- The RSO may inspect firearms for safety.
- All firefarms must be cased (not holstered) and unloaded when entering and leaving the range.
- Patrons must wear eye and hearing protections at all times. Open-toed shoes or any articles of clothing presenting a safety hazard are NOT permitted on the firing line.
- Time may be limited to1-hour on each range at the RSO's discretion.
- Paper or cardboard targets ONLY.
- Outside target stands are NOT allowed.
- No rapid fire or uncontrolled firing on any range.
- Park in approved parking areas only.
- No animals on range property, with the exception of necessary service animals.
- ALL ammunition for Range Use must be bought on location.

You must be 18 years of age or older to shoot unaccompanied in the range. Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
To shoot at our range you must have a valid government issued ID.
We have top of the line 40 yard lanes with adjustable targets.
Most all calibers are allowed. Please contact us for further questions.
Please dress appropriately and keep in mind there is hot brass ejected from firearms.

Eye and aar protection is mandatory while on the range. If you do not have protection, we will have them available for sale at the range check in.
We encourage everyone to feel comfortable when shooting. When you visit the range for the first time, watch the safety video and complete the safety waiver. Once you have done that, head over to the range desk, let them know you are new and they will get you everything you need! All you need to bring is a government-issued photo ID and your excitement!
